Reckless moonlit passion
burns so very bright.
As two young, earnest lovers
allow their fancy to take flight.
They are lost to any decency .
Maintain no common sense.
Of restraint there is no attempt
at misguided semblance.
They revel in sensation.
Unmindful. Time draws nigh.
Nature’s trumpets blaze the dawning.
She hears nothing but his cries.
Awareness stirs, she starts to feel
her wayward dreaming slip away.
Satisfaction lost like stars of night
to the stark reality of day.
“I protest!” She shrieks toward the night
“To leave me in this state is wrong!”
She turns to find her lover, but
like the night, he’s done and gone.
