Into the Sunlight

Feel the sunlight warm you
as you lay down in the field.
Feel the dew enfold you,
as the earth begins to yield.

Slowly drift to dreaming
of heaven up above.
Hear the sound of angels crying,
sweetly aching from their love.

Know the gentle rushing,
of nature's sultry breath.
Feel the wind caressing
as you awaken from your rest.

Taste the satisfaction
as the warmth begins to fade.
Into the sunlight, come again.
It's just beyond the shade.

Growing Old

In the corners of my mind
the cob-webs hang.
I hear only the echos
of songs I've sang.
Only the shadows do I see,
faded memories of how it used to be.

In the mirror,
the reflection is no longer mine.
All I see is someone silenced by time.
My hands lay still
as I have no one to hold,
because I grew alone
as I grew old.

Unaffected

Inexplicable, unexpected
thinking you were unaffected
doing nothing
needing haste
uncontrolled
just a taste
just a look
just a touch
very little
oh so much
seeming distant
silent burning
quenchless fire
helpless yearning
desire fresh
from long ago
touch my flesh
melting snow
look my way
thirsty eyes
drink of me
hear my cries
taste my lips
sense my want
wish to sate
this endless taunt
feel me sigh
filled with heat
make me breathless
I'm so weak.
